Win10shutup4/30/2023 ![]() ![]() Which means you need to have a volume license agreement plan with Microsoft and I'm pretty sure they don't hand those out to consumers or even "businesses" that don't have enough people (they'll likely tell you to use Pro). The thing with LTSC branches of Windows 10 is that it's available for Windows 10 Enterprise only. So digging into this some more for a better answer to the question, I'm still going to stand by that if you're tired of Windows bloat and you want something to suit your needs, switch to Linux and use either a compatibility layer like Wine or Proton or use a VM. So I am wondering what the downsides would be to using an embedded or LTSC version of Windows 10, such as driver comparability, program comparability, reliability, etc. ![]() The other version that I found is Pro For Workstations, but I bet they still load it with crapware and spy on their customers. Microsoft isn't paying me to be a beta software tester, and I never signed up to volunteer for Microsoft. ![]() It supposedly excludes all that crapware that I hate, and it is probably more stable too as a result of less "new feature updates" that are known to cause problems. Basically it's a version designed for MRI machines, air traffic control centers, ATMs, military equipment, etc. So I have been looking at embedded versions of Windows 10, and I found a version called LTSC. This is a large part of the reason why I replaced Windows 10 with Windows 7 on my main computer. IMO installing and running an otherwise useless program to keep the computer free of other crap programs is simply ridiculous. Yes, I know that there are programs that keep it from coming back, but I don't want to use those. I don't want Cortana, Candy Crush, Weather, Xbox, Telemetry, etc, Yes, I know that there are ways to delete it, but it comes right back. I can't stand Windows 10, largely because of all the crapware it has and continues to install.
